Who You'll Be Working With:
Mitchell Wagner, MSc, is a physician-in-training and biomedical researcher at the University of Alberta. He graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with an Honors degree in Immunology and Infection in 2022, alongside a Certificate in Biomedical Research, and completed a Master of Science in Experimental Surgery in 2024. He is currently an MD-PhD student at the University of Alberta.
Mitchell has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at national and international scientific conferences. His academic and research contributions have been recognized through competitive funding and prestigious personnel awards, including support from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Canadian Blood Services.
In addition to academic medicine, Mitchell has extensive experience in clinical research and has held leadership roles in patient advisory councils and health system quality improvement initiatives. This combination of academic rigor, clinical exposure, and leadership experience underscores a strong understanding of what medical schools value and how to help applicants communicate their strengths.
